ESOS and Universities

24 January 2018      Emma Keenan, Procurement Specialist

The Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) is an energy assessment and energy saving scheme established by the Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme Regulations 2014 (ESOS Regulations). This is a reminder that Universities who operate as contracting authorities do not need to submit a response. Universities who self-declare as private sector and are sufficiently large to trigger qualification, will need to provide the detail.

The deadline for the next compliance phase is not until December 2019, however you may be approached soon by consultants offering to support you in the preparation of your (unrequired) response. Full information on the regulations including who is required to respond can be found here.
