Thanks to all members who attended the strategic thinking for estates development on 22 June and provided feedback. Overall, the scores were very good. Helpful feedback suggested more signposting to the venue’s location was needed. We’ve taken this on board and our events manager will change practices if we use this venue again.
Following a recent masterclass for members on university business improvement through integrated planning, a number of downloadable resources were produced for members to utilise.
Call for participation in research - falls on university stairs
The University of Bristol, University of Essex and the Schumacher Institute, Bristol, would like to invite the estates departments of all UK universities to participate in a scientific research study on the visual impact of stairs design on fall incidents. View AUDE’s discussion board for further details.
HEDQF survey: future research and activity programmes
Thank you to all members who have completed this survey; we’ve had 47 responses. To see if we can increase responses to at least a third of AUDE membership the deadline has been extended to 22 July. The survey only take two minutes to complete so please give it a go.
How do universities create truly collaborative spaces?
A key message from Ann Allen, Director of Estates and Buildings at The University of Glasgow, at the recent HEDQF #FutureCampus conference, focussed on how we make our universities truly collaborative. We’d be interested to hear from our members on this topic.
The SAUDE Autumn conference (for Scottish regional members) is being held at Glasgow School of Art on the 29th and 30th September 2016. Please hold the dates in your diaries and the agenda and joining instructions will be circulated in early August. Ideas for topics to be featured at the conference are also welcome.
The AUDE green scorecard, said to be the first of its kind, has been developed in conjunction with the Environmental Association for Universities and Colleges (EAUC), and will focus on topics including energy, transport, water, waste, biodiversity and landscape. It will allow the production of online reports on these subjects to help universities improve their estates and environmental sustainability strategies. Find out how to access the system.
