AUDE Negotiating and Influencing

NEGOTIATING AND INFLUENCING

7 - 8 October 2013

Venue: To be advised – dependent upon delegates attending (options include Central London, Warwickshire and Manchester - we will aim to choose the location which accommodates the needs of the maximum number of delegates).

This is a two day development programme for Directors of Estates and their senior staff. It is designed to enhance the skills of negotiating and influencing.

The programme introduces a range of new techniques to enable participants to make a significant impact on those with whom they interact.

AUDE has worked with external training consultants papillon du bois ltd to custom design this event. It provides an interactive learning opportunity to help delegates become proficient influencers and negotiators. This course builds on the strengths of the AUDE network and allows participants to benefit from the range of knowledge and experience of their peers.

Who Should Attend?

Directors of Estates, Deputy Directors of Estates and senior members of the Estates Team, who are looking to develop, refresh or enhance their negotiating and influencing skills for internal challenges or interactions with external organisations.

Outcomes

Participants will establish a deeper understanding of:

  • Planning and preparing to negotiate
  • Establishing the climate for negotiating
  • Exploring and understanding others needs
  • Bidding and proposing
  • Trading
  • Gaining commitment
  • Entrenched negotiators.

The first day covers an introduction to styles and key techniques – the second day will cover the practical application of skills in commercial situations and when interacting with academics, commercial colleagues and suppliers.

■  Encompasses a blend of skill sharing, group work and experiential learning

■  Involves internationally recognised consultants and workshop facilitators/coaches

■  Includes regular discussion about delegates own personal development.
