A Journey into Counter Fraud - New Blog: Part 3

20 November 2018      Emma Keenan, Procurement Specialist

I can see that we have a great list of BUFDG counter fraud champions.   Champions have signed up to receive additional information on Fraud topics from us and often have the responsibility of sharing that knowledge in their own institution.

By going into the MYBUFDG section of the website anyone can become a fraud champion.  Just change your preferences by ticking the box next to counter fraud champion in roles and also check there is a tick against “I would like to receive notifications of new topics on the discussion board related to my interest selections.”

With the chair of our Counter Fraud Working Group (CFWG), Sarah Randall-Paley, Finance Director of Lancaster University, I have organised the next meeting of the counter fraud working group to take place on 12th December in London.  At that meeting we are going to focus on a review of our group terms of reference and think about what we need to focus on regarding training, advice, tools and resources over the next 12 months.  Please do get in touch if there is anything you want raised.

It has become clear to me this week that there is a vast number of organisations, public, not-for profit and commercial, who say they can support you in this fight against such a variety of crimes.  Next time my blog will focus on looking at some of these organisations, highlighting those who may be most useful to you.
