This toolkit was developed in partnership with AUDE, SCHOMS and UCISA but why is it useful to us?
It is aimed at us as Estates Professionals working on learning spaces projects big or small.
It is a holistic and partnership approach to achieve the best possible learning spaces for your institution
It starts in Section 1 with the pedagogy which drives and underpins what we need to do where an academic champion is key
Section 2 helps us assemble the right team, early on, as a wide range of stakeholders and professionals need to work in partnership for best results
Section 3 provides an overview of managing a learning spaces project
Section 4 helps with the detailed specification
Section 5 focuses on learning technologies
Section 6 provides ideas for evaluation an important aspect of any project
Section 7 covers Change Management and Transition which is crucial for the spaces to be effectively used and to help support users
The last section asks what’s next and aims to inspire us for even better spaces and keep an eye on future signals
The toolkit has many case studies and useful web references for further insights
It can be followed linearly or you can dip into the particular section you need
So whether you are beginners or experts in learning space design this should be an excellent resource. If you have any queries or comments please let Eleanor Magennis know on Eleanor.magennis@glasgow.ac.uk as she is the primary AUDE representative on the project.
