AUDE communications adviser vacancy

AUDE are looking for an enthusiastic volunteer with sound knowledge of HE to become our communications adviser. This person would be responsible for proof reading any outward facing press releases and on occasion speaking with journalists. This role also works very closely with the team writing and editing the annual Estates Management Report EMR.

AUDE have inhouse writers who will prepare articles and brief you on context, we are seeking someone to read through and sense check the work before it gets published.

The position is open to all AUDE senior members (Directors, Deputy Directors and Direct reports to Directors).

The successful candidate will:

  • be the final point of contact, authorizing the release of articles and written press
  • ensure that any communications do not go against the associations vision and objectives
  • identify areas of improvement such as collaboration with other sector bodies to enhance work
  • part of the team writing the narrative for the EMR
  • work closely with the Executive Director, and AUDE staff
  • advice AUDE on the types of communications/messages to focus on
  • speak to press/journalists on occasion and/or recommend a member that might be better suited dependent on topic
  • attend the full executive meetings
  • attend the AGM

Time commitment includes: 4x Executive committee meetings per year, 8x telephone calls for EMR 1x AGM and 8-10 days per year own time review of papers etc.

The term of office is 3 years with an option to extend for an additional 3 years.

You will receive full support and an induction from the AUDE office and a warm welcome from the Executive.
