Construction Services VAT Domestic Reverse Charge - Webinar

Course: Construction Services VAT  Domestic Reverse Charge- Webinar
When: Thursday 11th February 2021
Time: 09:30 - 11.30
Cost: £99+VAT

Description: After 2 delays on implementation, HMRC are set to introduce the domestic reverse charge for construction services with effect from 1 March 2021. This is a measure to combat fraud in the construction industry, aiming to deprive a fraudulent sub-contractor of the opportunity to collect VAT from a customer and disappear before paying it over to HMRC. It will however mean a major shake up of familiar VAT accounting processes.

This seminar is aimed at parties in the construction industry such as contractors and sub-contractors and also purchasers of construction works. This could include public bodies, education establishments, housing associations, property developers, commercial landlords, retailers, manufacturers and utility companies.

The agenda will include

  • What is it and how is it supposed to work?
  • What construction supplies does it cover?
  • Interaction with the Construction Industry Scheme
  • Some specific situations
  • Landlords and tenants
  • “End users”
  • “Intermediary suppliers”
  • The risks and opportunities
  • How to minimise risk of errors and disputes
