We are very pleased to announce that the Higher Education Design Quality Forum (HEDQF) is partnering with UCL’s MSc Learning Environments programme to award a student prize this year. HEDQF is an independent organisation with over 160 institutional members, that promotes high quality design in university campuses, buildings and facilities, to enhance teaching, learning, research and public engagement.
The prize will go to the best student research essay on the implications of digital learning for the design of university estates in the UK. This is particularly relevant during the pandemic, as HE institutions pivot towards new virtual-physical hybrid arrangements for teaching and learning. Essays will be judged during May 2021, with the selected winner showcased on the HEDQF website.
Emerita Professor for Learning Environments, Alexi Marmot said “this is a truly excellent idea, at exactly the right time for asking questions about how educational estates need to adapt long-term integrating virtual and face-to-face learning.”
