The series offer fast-paced debates on current topics surrounding HE and estates and as we continue to innovate and improve across the sector. Debating how can universities provide the best learning environments for the next generation of students?

AUDE Big Conversation 2020

The fourth AUDE Big Conversation event took place on 7th February 2020 at the University of Hull. The event welcome over 130 AUDE members, AUDE business partners and corporate attendees. Focusing on two main themes - the power of the estate on student experience and can we achieve net zero carbon in our estates provided an open forum and opportunities for discussions and exchanges for the delegates attending to consider and reflect on. 

AUDE Big Conversation 2019

The third AUDE Big Conversation event took place on 24 January 2019 at the McEwan Hall, The University of Edinburgh. 

150 delegates attended, a mix of directors of estates, directors of finance and commercial organisations.  Focusing on two main themes - HE finance and state of the estate, provided an open forum and opportunities for discussions and exchanges for the delegates attending to consider and reflect on. 

AUDE Big Conversation 2018

The second Big Conversation event from AUDE took place on 25 January 2018 at AUDE, Liverpool Hope University. 100 delegates attended, a mix of directors of estates and commercial organisations. As part of AUDE’s 25th anniversary the day looked at ‘25 years of HE Estates – Lessons from the past to build our future’.

AUDE Big Conversation 2017

The annual and first Big Conversation series from AUDE provides members the opportunity to discuss, debate and exchange views on the hottest topics in higher education. In 2017, AUDE held its inaugural event on Brexit for the HE sector at the London School of Economics.

Over 70 delegates attended, a mix of AUDE members, suppliers and industry experts from the sector. Hosted by Simon Fanshawe, delegates were welcomed and the day kicked off with Professor Sir Ian Diamond taking us through the key events in higher education over the decades. He talked through how in the face of challenge must always come change and estates can respond through innovation and providing world class facilities.
