Eighteen months after the start of the Covid-19 pandemic it feels like now is the right time to take stock of what we’ve achieved as university estates and facilities teams – and to say the most enormous Thank You to everyone involved in a simply huge team effort.
Throughout November 2021, we’ll be sharing the stories of people who have gone above and beyond in their efforts to keep their universities on track. They are often the behind-the-scenes staff that don’t always get the recognition they deserve. But during this extraordinarily challenging period they have risen to new heights of professionalism, determination and sheer hard work, and they are based in every estates and facilities team in every university. They are our #AudeCovidHeroes.
Get involved
On this website you’ll be able to see filmed stories from five of our universities – the London School of Economics and Political Science, De Montfort University, the University of Strathclyde, Lancaster University and the University of Northampton. Why not share them – with your colleagues, with your teams? They show colleagues at their very best – stepping up to take responsibility and lead from the front, placing universities at the heart of the Covid response within our communities, making huge changes to our building set-ups under pressure and at speed so that teaching and research could continue, and supporting our students during this most difficult period.
