Add your projects to the new Capital Cost Database

08 August 2025      Martin Higgs, AUDE Communications and Campaigns Manager

Our updated version of the Capital Cost Database has been launched and it is great to be able to track university teams engaging with the tool. This really is a shared document, as by its nature the more all estates teams use it and add their own projects to it, the better it works as a guide to likely costs for everyone. So today’s call is to continue to add your own projects to the database.

No project is irrelevant. While we might imagine our capital projects as our newest new builds, the projects that work inside the database are of all kinds – large and small, new builds and refurbs, boiler replacements and public realm and…you name it. By working together to build this database we ensure its relevance well into the future. Your project can be of any value as there is no upper or lower limit. Projects are inflation-adjusted meaning ones from the past are still valuable as items of learning data for others to use in comparison.

The Capital Cost Database comes complete with a user guide. Within the database you can filter previous projects by location, asset type, start date, new build, refurbishment, and cost; and download high level cost data from previous projects.

This is a whole-association activity to maintain this database as a working tool. Thankyou for playing your part in that. AUDE university members will be able to access the Capital Cost Database using their existing account information with a single sign-on process.
