Student wellbeing in the post-COVID reality webinar

21 July 2020      Corinne Merriman, Events Manager

Over the last 4 months, the world has changed for everyone, and students are no different. If anything, they’re one of the groups that have been impacted most. Let alone the usual stresses that accompany starting university back when times were more ‘normal’, now additional concerns exist from health and safety to the hybrid way of studying. Ultimately, our new cohort have a lot to deal with and they’re going to need university support staff more than ever before. The higher education sector has to adapt with new ideas to manage student wellbeing. With the number of recorded student mental health conditions rising 7x over the last 10 years, it’s alarming to think what impact COVID-19 will have.

During this webinar we will explore:

  • What has changed in the last 10 years and how you can cope with an increasing demand for support services.
  • Tactics to manage student wellbeing in the new academic year, especially when 2020/21 is forecasted to see an increase on the 81,000 conditions recorded in 2018/19.
  • How you can spot students in need whilst adapting to the new “study-bubble” approach.
  • What effective, efficient and university wide incident case management can look like.

To explore these topics and more, please join Emma Selby, Director of Digital Mentality and Clinical Nurse Consultant, and Lee Rawlinson, Director of Innovation at Kinetic on Tuesday 28th July at 14:00 - 15:00.
