Coronacoaster Conference Pathways

Coronacoaster: Conference Pathways

AUDE21 is the biggest conference we’ve ever run. More sessions, more workshops, more speakers, more delegates – and with the whole estates and facilities team able to attend for the cost of a Team Ticket, more ways to learn and gain value from the event. With so many options, and with busy working diaries to accommodate, how will you make the most of the AUDE Conference?

Delegates can now check the programme and add sessions to their calendar. Some of you will dip in for just a session or two. Some of you will want to attend as much as possible. In this article we’ve highlighted six “Conference Pathways” – options based on particular themes or types of content. Why not discuss your path through #AUDE21 with colleagues, so as a team you manage to see as many different sessions as you can?

It’s time to book your own personal programme.

Conference Pathways 1: Plenaries

Of course – and we aren’t exactly recommending this – you could experience a fantastic conference just by engaging with our plenary sessions. We’ve made it as simple as possible by scheduling these at the same time every day: 9.30am and 1pm. Across the week there are ten great sessions, and while we aren’t going to pick favourites at this point, we’ve aimed at a mix of the practical and the inspirational that we think you’ll enjoy. We’ve all been riding the Coronacoaster for the last 12 months and many of these sessions give more than a nod to the current challenges – economic, cultural, institutional. And within the plenary sessions there is a real thread to be found about the personal and psychological stresses of this pandemic year. With teams to manage and our own wellbeing to maintain, this is as important an aspect of estates leadership as any. Our headline speakers are at the heart of the AUDE Conference experience, this year as every year, and we really hope you’ll add more than just a couple from this list as you build your own personal programme.

Conference Pathways 2: Future trends and the post-Covid world

There’s more than a touch of crystal ball gazing about our second Conference Pathway. We’ve all needed to do plenty of learning to cope with the shifting sands of a year of Covid. But 12 months on, what do we make of the changed landscape? How will we need to plan and build in the future? How and where will our students learn? What does Covid mean for space management, or for our ability to manage successful commercial activity? Follow this pathway for great input from estates directors and architects too.

  • We’ll be joined by Rupert Cook and Alexander Grigull of HEDQF, who’ll be sharing information on the AUDE/HEDQF Student Life survey
  • The winning delegate cohort from the 2019 AUDE Summer School will be delivering their plan for Delivering Integrated Facilities
  • AUDE Executive members Diana Hampson and Trevor Wills will be running an informal session to welcome those directors new to AUDE.

On Tuesday 13 April, our Annual General Meeting is at 4pm, and we hope you’ll stay with us after the business of the day for the Virtual Quiz at 5pm. Time to get the competitive juices flowing!

On Thursday 15 April, keep an eye open for:

Summary

We know you’ll find your own way through the AUDE Conference and we encourage you to build your own personal programme, and to collaborate with your colleagues so that as a group you get as much value as possible from #AUDE21. Many of the sessions will be recorded, and we’ll make the recordings available for delegates as soon as we can. If you miss a session, there’s no need to miss out. We are very grateful indeed to those supporters who have made the conference possible this year and we encourage every delegate to check out the supporter activities and exhibition. Hopin is a great platform for connecting around the sector – we really hope you’ll make the best of it. And if you are having a good time, or if we can help you, let us know. The AUDE team will be around through all five days of the event to make sure everything works well for you.
