Fire safety – student accommodation
We’ve teamed up with USHA (the University Safety and Health Association) to issue a note to members on fire safety within student accommodation.
We know there is no more important issue within the minds of our members than this one. The tragedy of Grenfell Tower continues to cast a long shadow, and recent fires at the Glasgow School of Art, St Andrews and within private sector student accommodation in the Greater Manchester area have kept issues around fire safety very much in our focus.
The joint paper acts as an advice note, providing guidance, while making the point that every estate is unique and each institution will need to take further detailed advice on compliance requirements.
