Is it time to change how we plan and activate the campus estate?

23 April 2021      Corinne Merriman, Events Manager

Campus Intuition, Freestate and Turnberry are hosting this webinar on 18th May at 11:00 - 12:00 for AUDE members and is free to attend.

Despite major shifts in the higher education sector in recent decades, there have been few changes in the methodology for planning the campus estate. From a broad, top-down awareness of ‘need’, a masterplan is commissioned, buildings are constructed, used and maintained, right up until the point that they are deemed no longer functional enough to justify the upkeep. And then the cycle begins again. Covid-19 has put significant pressure on capital budgets, spending now needs to be allocated more carefully than ever before.

Are we doing it right or is there a better, cheaper and more effective way to create resilient campus environments,  that are still relevant and exciting for staff and students?

This talk will bring examples from the speakers masterplanning work across commercial and higher education institutes around the world. They will discuss how rapid, low cost transformation of physical environments can be undertaken responding to student and staff needs, and what they have observed as critical to commercially successful and socially useful projects.

Please book onto the webinar here.
