UKRI MRC CONFERENCE SERIES – ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY
Overview
The UKRI has set a target to be in a Net Zero position by 2040 and MRC has published its ambition to reduce carbon footprint by 50% by 2030. Given the challenges that the Net Zero ambition pose for the research community, a collective approach is required.
Many organisations and Universities are very much ahead with their plans and actions in this area, others are less clear of the way forward in this matter. Either way, the problem is complex and best addressed in a collective, collaborative, and supportive way and the need to understand what is working well and what is not is important for increasing the speed in which this change is required.
The MRC together with other Research Councils and partners, such as AUDE, LEAF and other leaders in this area are planning a series of conferences/ seminar and engagements to start the conversation in a range of aspects: Estate, Procurement, Laboratory Operations, etc. over the next 12 months with the aim to
A full programme will be provided in the next few months with the first event evolving around Estate and Procurement, which we are organising for a date in early July 2022.
Details of date, time, venue and of course speakers will be provided in due time, but we are keen for people to look out for the invitation and of course- we want to hear from you if you want to present on a particular subject.
