Session Synopsis
While the pandemic required educational institutions to switch to remote learning nearly overnight, it also revealed those challenges that need to be addressed. To kick off this session, Education Leaders Mark Thaler and Richard Jacob will present findings from Gensler’s newly launched Education Engagement Index that will help inform institutions as they plan for a future that is more agile, resilient, and equitable. They will also discuss key education trends from Gensler’s Design Forecast 2021 report which focuses on how people’s desire to reconnect is driving the recovery in a post-Covid world. After spending months studying the shifting space needs at colleges and universities during the pandemic, Mark and Richard will close the session with a deep and engaging discussion on 4 space types that will shape the next generation of campus buildings while enhancing learning and success for all students.
