Title: Climate Adaptation Planning at the University of Nottingham
Date: Tuesday 24 March
Time: 1pm (45 minutes)
Synopsis:
The recent publication of AUDE’s ‘Climate Change Adaptation and Resilience Guide’ helped to open up a conversation among AUDE member universities about the work they are doing in this field. In this short lunchtime session we will hear from Amy Gregory of the University of Nottingham about a number of highly transferable projects that all improve campus resilience against climate change.
This webinar will look at nature-based solutions such as green walls and roofs; solar shading of new and existing buildings to help prevent summer overheating; and flood risk mitigation. In all cases there is a gain to the university – whether that is measured in terms of reduced costs, improved quality of living and working on the campus, or a reduction in flood risk.
