Event description
A comprehensive reimagining of one of LJMU’s most prominent gateway buildings, the transformation of the Henry Cotton Building marks a major milestone in the university’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and delivering an outstanding student experience. This ambitious project will decarbonise and repurpose an existing 1990s building, creating state-of-the-art, flexible facilities for staff, students and visitors alike that reflect the university’s bold vision for the future.
Following a detailed options review, LJMU took the decision to retain the existing building and to commission a ambitious scheme which involves a vertical extension to expand the current 3rd floor, plus extensive remodelling of both 2nd and 3rd floors – all delivered whilst keeping the ground floor of the building operational.
