COVID-19 On Campus solution demo and discussion session

Friday 2nd October Online via MS Teams - 2.00-3.00pm

Managing the safety of students and staff – and communities – has been top of the University agenda in the last few weeks. On top of managing students and staff wellbeing, changing guidelines; the unknown behaviour of Covid 19, commentary from press and communities has all has put huge pressure on Universities.  But as we look forward to the rest of the academic year and indeed beyond, that uncertainty remains. Having the flexibility and oversight to ensure a safe, seamless and enjoyable mixed on-campus and online experience has never been more critical and indeed now needs to embedded into the systems and processes of the University in an effective; efficient and transparent way.  Not for a few weeks but for the foreseeable future.

To help universities tackle these issues, KPMG has developed a COVID-19 On Campus solution, specifically tailored to UK Higher Education. While recognising there are no ‘silver bullets’ when it comes to managing all conceivable COVID-related challenges, the tools and guidance included as part of this solution have been designed to provide the support universities need to communicate with, co-ordinate, manage and support their students, staff and academics throughout the academic year.

What is it? In short, the solution comprises three core components underpinned by 8 pre-configured ‘Journey Maps’, and designed around a collection of pre-defined Staff and Student personas:

  1. An app to enable two-way, auditable communication between students, staff and management
  2. A dashboard for management information and oversight
  3. On the ground practical action management and logistics support to support enabling flexibility and agility.

It can support Universities in understanding:

  • How can practical measures be implemented in line with changing Government guidance?
  • How can you build student and employee confidence that life on-campus will be safe and the right support will be in place?
  • How will you prioritise and co-ordinate access to classrooms and facilities, especially if supply exceeds demand?
  • How can you leverage technology effectively to support all of the above?
