Agile & smart working in HE: case study and lessons learned from the university of Northampton – 13:00 – 15:00. BOOK NOW>>

Hear from their Director of Estates & Campus Services and AUDE Secretary Becky Bradshaw, internal leads for project strands including human resources and communications, and key delivery partners MCW Architects, for insight and lessons learned on delivering this agile campus and how these can be adopted in a post-Covid learning, teaching and working environment.

A must event for members with an interest in capital where you will hear from:

  • Dr Joe Jack Williams, Associate and researcher at Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios, on their recently launched Embodied Carbon Tool. As well as a demonstration of how the tool can be used, he will explain the importance of understanding embodied carbon through a building life cycle alongside operational carbon.
  • Mark Thaler, Senior Associate and colleague Richard Jacob, Architect, Associate, Gensler, who will talk on design forecasts and the impact on capital developments.

Reducing emissions relies on every single person in an organisation being aware of the carbon impacts of their choices and feeling motivated and supported to take action. This course is tailored to the university sector, and will support learners to identify practical steps they can take to get involved in your organisation's low carbon journey. 

18th May

Is it time to change how we plan and activate the campus estate? 11:00am – 12:00. BOOK NOW>>

Hosted by Campus Intuition, Freestate and Turnberry. This talk will bring examples from the speakers’ master planning work across commercial and higher education institutes around the world. They will discuss how rapid, low-cost transformation of physical environments can be undertaken responding to student and staff needs, and what they have observed as critical to commercially successful and socially useful projects.

Preparing for Net Zero: Survey of UK University Estates and delivery of net-zero and low carbon ambitions - 14:00 – 15:30. BOOK NOW>>

AUDE would like to invite members to hear more about a recent survey of higher education estates professionals on preparing for net zero. It will cover the findings of a recent survey of UK university estates on the delivery of net-zero and low carbon ambitions along with potential recommendations for the sector and government (based on the University of Edinburgh).

AUDE and HEDQF are hosting a webinar to talk about the launch of our recent Student Life survey report.  The webinar will share findings from the student survey work on ‘Student Life’, how their expectations changed through Covid-19 and the recently published research on Student views on Sustainability, to think about the design of the future campus.
